Residential Care For Dementia
Pax Hill has a dedicated unit for the care of clients with dementia.
In our residential care for dementia unit – which we refer to as the EMF wing (elderly, mentally, frail) residents need varying amounts of help from staff. This includes prompting or encouragement to dress, eat, participate in activities and to know when to go to bed, and to get up. Some need clothes laid out for them and help with putting them on.
Some residential care for dementia clients can communicate clearly at times and not at others. Some use aids to help them walk. Most have short-term memory problems. These residents don’t usually need the help of more than one carer at a time.
