Dementia Care at Pax Hill
Pax Hill has specialist areas for both residential and nursing dementia care. Our staff in these areas are specially trained in the care of people with dementia.
We support the work of the Alzheimer’s Society and closely follow developments in their area of expertise. We applaud their vision of a radically improved world for people with dementia and ensure that our staff take advantage of the wealth of information available from them. Pax Hill also has a Dementia Care Mapper who evaluates the quality of our care from the perspective of the person with dementia. Dementia Care Mapping is a powerful and effective tool, which we use to assess and improve the quality of our dementia care. DCM is available in very few care homes as it requires a trained and qualified staff member to undertake the process. This tool was developed by the Bradford University School of Health Studies and is increasingly being used internationally.
