Activities at Pax Hill
Life at Pax Hill is centred very much around the people who live here, and we encourage family and friends to be a part of our community. There is always plenty going on, which we encourage residents to participate in, although of course, they are free to do so as much as they wish.
Each area at Pax Hill has a dedicated activity therapist who ensures our residents can, if they wish, participate in daily social activities and entertainment, and that they’re occupied with interests that they like, which are easily available to them.
Our activity therapists are qualified professionals who understand how to help our residents get the best from daily life. They provide a very wide range of activities and events – designed around residents’ needs and personal preferences. These include:
Trips and outings to:
- Garden centres
- Seaside resorts
- Music festivals
Students from Lord Wandsworth College in Long Sutton are visiting Pax Hill Care Home each week and providing a wonderful community support programme for residents.
The students have been playing games, reading with and talking to residents for an hour in the afternoons. This is great for the residents, who are really pleased to have young company and are very impressed with those who have visited so far.
Pax Hill resident Pat said: “It was a pleasure to be visited by these young girls, they are interesting, polite and pretty good at Scrabble, which I was very happy about. It is a good idea for the school to facilitate this programme and I hope it continues.”
